Our Remodel Journey
The Inspiration for The Collection
We live in a mountain cabin, built in 1950 in the town of South Lake Tahoe, California. The 1,094 square feet home with two bedrooms and one bath and a tiny kitchen. We had little storage, space and no dishwasher! We decided to enclose the outdoor porch, adjacent to the kitchen and in the process, redesign the look and feel. Our vision was a 1950's ski cabin with a grandma-vibe kitchen.
The Look
This is the vintage wallpaper we selected from Target. It is a cowgirl theme. We loved the covered wagons which are part of the history of Lake Tahoe.
Decor
Everything in the kitchen needed to be vintage to capture our vision. We started looking at antique and thrift stores to find the perfect look. Our best thrift trip was to Eastern Oregon where we found many antique items and collectibles.
